Poum Tchack was formed in Marseilles (France) around 2002. The band plays a harmonious mix of Gypsy swing, jazz, and rock and roll. Take a violin, a song, a bandoneon (small accordion), a guitar (and sometimes an oud or a banjo), a bass and a drum set and then add some infectious humor and some amazing compositions all done acoustically but in the true spirit of rock and roll and you get a group perfectly suited for the stage.
Poum Tchack is not limited to the stage as they have other projects including cinema-concerts and theatrical performances along with recording sound tracks for Ladislas Starewitch's animations as well as participating in the “Streets” project in a version of Bertold Brecht and Kurt Weill's Three Penny Opera directed by Eva Doumbia.
