Name: Achere - A small Cuban gourd rattle, sometimes used in Santeria, a religion with origins in West Africa and the Carribean meshing the Yoruba religion with Catholicism and Native Indian traditions. In some cases, other materials are used instead of gourds. For example, metal, wood, or coconut.
