Abiogenesis is a rock fusion band from Dimapur, Nagaland, India. Their exploration and experimentation resulted in evolving a new world music genre which they have named it Howey Music which is a fusion of Naga folk with rock and other forms of modern music. Howey in another word is Abiogenesis identity and brand of music. Adding to their unigue sound, they play a new wind musical instrument called Bamhum, invented by a band member – Moa Subong.

Bamhum is a lead instrument in most of their tracks. Many say that musical instruments have not been invented for the last 100 years and that most other claimed ones are only re-invention of existing ones. Bamhum is totally a new concept with new mechanism.

Abiogenesis released their first Howey album titled ‘Aeon Spell’ through Saregama in June 2007.
